Procedure Description

Depending on the extent of your injury, surgery is either performed in the office under local anesthesia or at an outpatient surgery center under general anesthesia. At your consultation, we will review the treatment options for your facial laceration repair or fracture repair and customize a surgical plan accordingly. If you have undergone imaging (CT scan, X-ray, MRI, etc.) prior to your consultation, please bring a disc with the images for review. Our goal with surgery is to restore your natural anatomy while minimizing any chance of scarring or residual deformity. 

Recovery

The length of your recovery and aftercare will largely depend on the extent of the trauma you sustained, and the type of repair required. Occasionally, multiple procedures are necessary for optimal reconstruction. If this is the case, a staged procedure at a later date will be required.
